China’s Maritime Laws and Maritime Rights & Interests was compiled and revised by the Marine Development Strategy Institute of State Oceanic Administration It is one of the volumes of the series of China’s Maritime Development which is the publishing program sponsored by the National Publishing Fund as well as the Twelfth Five-year Guideline of National Important Books. It introduces the development of China’s maritime laws and its efforts and progress to protect and uphold maritime rights and interests from several aspects including the development process of maritime laws, contents of maritime laws, categories of maritime rights and interests, hot issues in protecting and upholding maritime rights and interests and so on. The information reflects China’s initiative and contribution in resolutely upholding its maritime rights and interests, maintaining the stable relations and mutual development between China and neighboring countries at sea, always adhering to the peaceful solution to maritime disputes, duly handling its contradictions and discrepancy with certain nations, and creating a peaceful and stable regional environment.
Mi Chenxi, female, associate research fellow of the Marine Development Strategy Institute of State Oceanic Administration. In 2006, she graduated from the University of Essex of Britain with LLM. In 2011, she entered the School of Law of Dalian Maritime University as a doctoral candidate. Her personal research fields mainly include international maritime laws and rights and interests, solution mechanism of maritime disputes, and laws of Polar Regions, and so on.
